In January 2015, I went to Roundhouse (London) with my family to watch Fuerza Bruta. It was one of the weirdest and the MOST AMAZING show I have seen !!
Social media and newspaper articles created a buzz, that made me very curious about the show and anxious to see it. Customer reviews were also very positive and a lot of people were excited for the shows return to the UK, as their appearances are infrequent .
Fuerza Bruta started in Bueno Aires and is now an international show around the world from America to China. I managed to read a lot of reviews, however I was unable to comprehend the significance of it and what made it so extraordinary. The videos online don’t quite capture the emotions because when you are there it feel very different.
The difference was rapidly evident upon my arrival.
I entered a dark theatre and the audience was asked to stand in the middle of the stage. Within seconds I heard a gun fired from the distance and a man appeared flying across the stage, he dropped down to a platform and began running. It wasn't until another gunshot that his dreams transformed into a nightmare. In my opinion the story is based on a person’s life and the different battles, emotions and experiences we all get to go through.
The room was filled with techno music and it felt like I was in a night club surrounded by a wide variety of ages. Each scene took places in a different part of the room, which I thought was very innovative as this allowed me to have a 360- degree experience of the show.

Another scene involved a huge swimming pool emerging down from the celling down to the audience’s heads. The performers were so close, the audience couldn’t resist but interact with them. At the end of each scene lights would fade and everything would disappear into darkness. The acts involved no verbal communication, but this stimulated a whole range of emotions, anxious, to excitement and pure joy. It was the only show that triggered more than one more than one of my senses.
In a nut shell I could see acrobats around the walls, I felt water sprinkled from the ceiling, paper blown from and a breeze of wind across your shoulders. This is no ordinary theater show. I was the middle of the action for 90 min, I got to touch actors, I felt the energy, the power.
If you are looking to watch something other than the usual Broadway musical, make sure you stay up to date with Fuerza Bruta’s tour dates. Its something words are unable to describe and something you cannot prepare yourselves for. I highly recommend everyone to watch it. YOU MUST SEE THIS SHOW AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME !!
